Located nestled in the foothills of Lookout Mountain, the St. Elmo community which was originally founded circa 1890 is home to turn of the twentieth century masterpieces, many of which have been perfectly preserved. This neighborhood was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996 and was designated a finalist for “Best Old House” neighborhood by “This Old House” magazine in 2013. Some newer construction is available as well which is perfectly blended in on the former old home sites. An ideal homeowner for this artsy community would be a lover of old homes looking to preserve or restore a home to its former glory, an outdoor enthusiast due to its proximity to Guild Trail, the Tennessee Bouldering Authority climbing gym, and 15 minute drive to world-class hang gliding or a first time homebuyer.  St. Elmo is home to several trendy restaurants, coffee shops, locally owned shops and all the conveniences of a larger suburb. Overall, this neighborhood offers its residents a quaint and quiet place to call home.
